New food guidance & menus

Recent government reports concluded that food served in some nurseries is low in energy and carbohydrates, high in salt and lacking in essential nutrients iron and zinc. Here at Kaleidoscope we believe that it’s important to establish healthy eating habits early on to give your little ones the best start in life. We aim to make this possible by supplying the children with home cooked, nutritional food, bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables and all the essential ingredients necessary for healthy physical and mental development.

We are currently reviewing our menus in line with the eat better start better guidelines recently released by the government. Whilst our current menus already follow these guidelines, we are looking to make the spring and summer menus even more enjoyable for the children, whilst still keeping them balanced and healthy.

Kaleidoscope Wins Major Award

The Press Business Awards 2011 took place on Thursday 17th  November at York Racecourse.

Thursday’s glittering black-tie awards dinner, which  celebrated entrepreneurship, collaboration between businesses, education and  communities, was one of the largest on record with more entries than ever  before. The event showcases the best of businesses that promote York and  Yorkshire.

We are pleased to announce that Jane won the York Press  Woman in Enterprise award for her years of dedication and hard work to make Kaleidoscope  the success it is today.

This award serves to highlight the success that both Jane  and Steve have shared through their continued support and encouragement of  staff, their dedication to the company and their hard work.

Jane said:

“I am  delighted and honoured to receive this prestigious award and I know my team are  very proud of me – I couldn’t have done it without them.  Our business was set up in the last recession  and being in business in this economic climate is tough but after 20 years we  are still expanding so it can be done.  Believe in yourself and your product and others will believe in you  too.  It’s this approach that has kept us all passionate about what we do at Kaleidoscope.”
